In the world, there are beaches in different colors. It is true, there are beaches with red, black, white, golden, pink and even green sand. Minerals, volcanic rocks, lichens, ground seashells are behind these strange but always beautiful shades of sand.

The black sand beaches in Hawaii are beaches of volcanic origin and if we talk about volcanoes it seems to me that Hawaii has a whole chapter and its own. The Hawaiian archipelago is a still-active volcanic chain of islands and is one of the safest places to see the might of planet Earth up close. There are many beaches here, all of them beautiful, and among the black beaches is Punaluu beach.

Punaluu Beach is on the southeast coast of Kau and is one of the most popular black beaches on the island of Hawaii. It is inside the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, near the city of Naalehu and on the black sheet, there are coconut palms and sea turtles that come to spawn hide. It is quite rocky and really icy freshwater emanates from the ground, which sometimes gives the feeling that the water is oily. A rarity.

Be careful, it is not a beach for swimming, the current is strong, but it is a beach for sunbathing, hanging out, and taking hundreds of photographs. In Hawaii, there are other black beaches, but we also find examples of green sand and white sand beaches so your photo album of the trip to Hawaii will be unforgettable and colorful. Lastly, why the color black? It is that the sand comes from the erosion of the basalt stone created by the lava in its explosion and on its way to the sea, where it cools.
