Best Places to Visit in Dubai in 7 Days
Hello everyone, I notice that a lot of people are going to visit Dubai right now. I, therefore, take this opportunity to share with you my experience and my advice on this city. Do you want to visit Dubai in 7 days? I have good news for you because there is no shortage of activities in the United Arab Emirates! Having lived there for more than four months, I can tell you that there is no getting bored. As a reminder, the week in Dubai begins on Sunday and ends on Thursday evening. Museum hours are therefore subject to change, particularly on Friday (Holy Day). Discover my tips for spending 7 unforgettable days in Dubai.
1st day: Relaxation day
For your first day, I advise you to visit the Dubai Mall. It is the largest shopping center in the world. This mall will make your head spin by its size and the number of activities on offer. You will find many luxury and ready-to-wear stores there, ideal for a shopping spree! You can also take advantage of numerous bars and restaurants to eat and countless activities: ice rink, attractions, aquarium, virtual reality games. From the Dubai Mall, you can also admire the Burj Khalifa as well as the magnificent fountain show while sipping a juice and possibly smoking a shisha. (Do not overuse it is very bad for health)
After watching the show, you can go to “La Mer” which is a very nice place to walk by the water and have dinner in the evening. You will find very nice restaurants there, in particular the HQ’S 459 which is a very cool and affordable restaurant where you can eat sitting on colored canapes on the terrace with a sea view. I recommend the seafood pasta served with sauce dew, a delight for your taste buds.
Day 2: Authentic Dubai
For your second day, I suggest you discover the authentic part of the city. First stop? The Bur Dubai Souk! Located in the district of old Dubai, you will be immersed in an oriental atmosphere with on your way a delicious scent of Oud. Here you can buy spices, traditional clothes, and gold. I advise you to negotiate the prices with the sellers because although it is an authentic souk the purpose is no less for the sellers to do business. For an even more authentic experience, I recommend that you take the traditional boats that bring you to the souk for 1 AED (local currency).
After the shopping stop, I advise you to visit the Dubai Museum which is located next to the souk. It was installed in an old fort dating from 1787 which gives it an undeniable charm asset. Interesting and fun, this museum invites you to return to the traces of the past of the Emirates as well as that of the Bedouin people thanks to the reconstruction of scenes of life and authentic objects found from this time. Pleasant and quick to visit, you will have a good time for less than 2 dollars. Please note, the museum is closed on Friday morning and opens at 2 p.m.
To end your cultural day on a most authentic note, I suggest you dine in a traditional restaurant. I invite you to taste a mandi, a Yemeni specialty made from meat and rice mixed with many spices. I recommend you with your eyes closed Al Romansiah restaurant located in Al Barsha.
Day 3: A full day in the desert
Head for an extraordinary day in the desert! I had the chance to spend this day with my friend and traveling companions. We went through the agency Desert Safari Dubai, which offered a day full of activity with a local guide. He picks us up at our hotel. First stage? Half an hour of quad biking in the desert, we loved this experience even if we found it a shame that we can only do it in a limited area. Then we left for a 4 × 4 safari in the desert. The ocher-colored sand as far as the eye can see as well as our giggles made it an unforgettable moment. We stopped for a few moments to take photos and videos in the middle of the desert. Besides, I challenge you to run in the sand, for my part, I finished my race with four irons in the air!
We then resume the 4 × 4 for a nice walk in the dunes. It is air-conditioned and comfortable. We arrive for sunset in a camp to eat a barbecue with oriental specialties while watching a show of oriental dance. We also got a henna tattoo. After this emotional day, the guide brought us back to our hotel.
My opinion: UNFORGETTABLE. MAGIC. EXTRAORDINARY. I recommend the eyes closed! A small flat for the camel ride which is a real tourist trap. The price of your day will depend on the activities you have selected in the package.
Day 4: A day in Abu Dhabi
Located 1 hour 20 minutes from Dubai by car, Abu Dhabi is the must-see city in the Emirates. I suggest you start your day with the Louvre Museum. A true modern architectural work, this museum is as beautiful from the inside as from the outside. You will discover many works from various eras. Equipped with an iPad, you will have access to all the information necessary to understand these different masterpieces. The entrance to the museum varies between 31 and 63 AED (Maximum: 16 dollars) depending on the ticket chosen. After this cultural visit, I invite you to take a stroll on the ledge and enjoy the beach. You must go to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque to admire the beauty of this place during sunset.
Day 5: A day in Al Ain
For your fifth day in the Emirates, I suggest you visit Al Ain, a city full of history located east of Abu Dhabi. I went there with the Get Dubai Tour agency because I wanted a guide to help me discover the history and monuments of the city. Zaman was very professional and enlightened me on the geopolitical situation of the United Arab Emirates and the countries of the Middle East. In the morning, we were immersed in Emirati history and politics by discovering the “Al Jahili Fort” and the “Al Ain Palace Museum”, former homes of Sheikhs from Abu Dhabi. Before lunch, we visited the Al Ain Oasis in which there are more than 100,000 date palms. In the afternoon, we discovered a local outdoor camel market. Then we went to Jebel Hafeet mountain from which there is a breathtaking view of the city and the desert of Al Ain. Finally, we visited the city zoo and the guide took me back to my hotel.
Day 6: Dubai chic
For your penultimate day in Dubai, I recommend that you bask in the “Sunset Beach” located next to the Burj Al Arab to take advantage of the sun’s rays. Then I suggest you visit Madinat Jumeirah. It is a city inside the city with oriental decor. You will find indoor souk, restaurants, and many hotels. You will discover a breathtaking view of the Burj Al Arab. To end your day, I invite you to discover the island of Palm Jumeirah where you can go jet skiing, boat and discover the famous Atlantis hotel. I advise you to have a drink at Only to admire the breathtaking view of Dubai, you will not be disappointed believe me.
Day 7: Dubai rest
For your last day of visit to Dubai, I advise you to go to the Marina and eat in one of the many restaurants located in this district. You can then enjoy the beach at La Mer to relax before your flight.
I hope you have found my advice useful when you visit Dubai. I wish you have a good vacation.
